temp control heater valve

Hi All,
I think the temp control valve for the heater is a Ranco product.   I need one for a '53 Kaiser.    Does anyone know of a source besides Rudy?    I've already rebuilt it once.   thanks,  Jim

I have one but it needs rebuilt.  I used a guy named Lance Walker in NC and he does/did great work.  Clean unit; $20 plus $5 shipping.

NAPA sells a kit to repair them if you feel like doing it yourself.  It's NAPA part number BK660-1000

Several decades ago, the NAPA fix for the Ranco valve was $10. I did 2 of them at the time and since the assembly is held together by folded over metal tabs, I saw the possibility that you might fix it once before the tabs broke.

You might give these guys a call, ask for Sam. They still have parts books and the parts for my Aero a couple times now, instead of the usual "what model Jeep do you have?" question.

Where is the temp control heater valve located on a '54 Special? Under the heater cover in the engine compartment? Pretty sure mine doesn't work. Pull the knob out and no change in heat from blower.

The heater control valve sticks through the firewall on the passenger side. The heater hoses are connected to it under the hood. The cable to it connects under the dash.
