"Has manual Gyro-Transmission"

What is this?

It's not even an automatic...it's stick with OD which is rare. Most early Specials tend to be Hydramatic equipped.

Chrysler had the "Gyro" transmission which operated similarly to the Borg-Warner overdrive in that you momentarily lifted your foot off the throttle to engage the next ratio.  Not the same thing though.  Seller likely doesn't know that and is taking their best guess.

Oh, I thought Gyro was a wrapped sandwich from the Mediterranean. I was wondering how much tziziki sauce to use on the transmission.

Correct, but they don't taste that great with gear lube on them.

Besides the "gyro transmission"  it also has the wrong bumper guards on the front..  They should be slanted.

Good call. These are '51 K guards or '55 Willys Bermuda/Custom.
