Yes...I would be interested

Trying to find out how many we might be able to sell. It is a costly item to make and we would have to make 100 of them to get the cost down. The tank for the Darrin is the same as the Henry J but the fill neck is different. So we either have to make both tanks or make the two different fill necks and solder on the right one for the sale.
-
Maybe we could get the MFGR. Fund do that??
I would be interested in one.

I haven't dropped mine yet...how long is the filler tube on the tank?(not counting the hose connecting to the neck that runs through the body)
-
Here is a pic of both the Darrin tank with the curved fill and the HJ with the straight neck. The tank is the same just the fill neck is different.
Also an aftermarket stainless steel tank for a Darrin.
-
Thank you! The pics were a bigger help! For some reason I envisioned the filler tube into the tank being in a different location for the two applications. So, just the different angled/straight piece makes more sense now. I was just talking to my fabricator buddy about how to undertake this task. Thank you for spearheading it!
...I like the thought of that stainless tank, but I wont complain either way to get one on the shelf 8)

In contact with several fabricators but the big question is how many will people buy. How many will you buy?
I will talk with Adam when I find out if there is a market for tanks.
Thanks

A lot of things are made in China. And your point is?

Aloha
What difference does it make. As long as it is done right it could be made anywhere. None will be made if no one will buy them.
Why don't you do all the research spend your time and money and have parts made and stock them for years before you get your initial investment back if ever for the good of the club like I have done.
There is no money to be made making Kaiser parts, it costs to much to have things made and way to long to sell them. Most people have already stopped making things. My suggestion is to stop bugging those that still want to help.

I've been watching your threads with great interest and commend you for taking the initiative to invest the time & money to produce now extinct & much needed parts.
Many years ago I produced a very nice lightweight titanium specialty tool for my old trade that really made life easier. First a couple prototypes and then a very small production run, followed by another small run that in total numbered only 10 percent of the number of tradesmen in my area. Most of the hardcore tradesmen in both unions that used them snapped them up immediately, followed by the guys that said "maybe I can get the company I work for to buy me one".......and my favorite........ "let me know when they're almost gone" The tool was only $30 at a time when we were all making well over $20 per hour.
It took 4 years for me to sell them all & break even. Of course after they were all gone guys asked for years if I have another run made, one company even had a few made just for themselves.
I can think of a few Aero parts that are needed but every time I start to go down that road I remind myself of the years it takes to simply break even, compared to even an average performing investment fund.

Thank you
I had a mold made for the Darrin door plunger rubber over 10 years ago , I had 200 made I spent $2,500.00 to have the mold made I think I still have 50 left and I just covered my cost.
I will keep trying to help out the club as much as I can.

Hello,
Will the Darrin door plunger rubbers fit 47-49 Kaisers and Frazers? If so, how much are they each?
-
The door plunger rubbers are unique to the Darrin and will not fit other KFs.
-
Hi.....I would be interested if it's a "exact replica".
-
