Title: Kaiser Tires
Post by: Bob G on March 25, 2017, 08:45:30 AM
'54 Kaiser Special in need of tires. Current tires are 13 yrs. old, "Thoro" brand, 215/75/15N radial with almost a 3" whitewall. I like the current tire and whitewall size. Have found that DB Tires and Coker are possible sources for replacements. Car has the factory wire wheels it came with and tubes in them. Any advice, experience or source of replacements will be appreciated, please.

My local restoration shop claims that for radials,  DB's are more reliable than Coker.

Lucas Tire Co also sells correct whitewall width in Radial tires.  Be sure to buy new tubes at the same time you install the tires and be sure that the stems are the correct diameter as some tube makers offer a narrow stem that is not correct for original wheels.

Thought I replied with a thank you to the response messages. Looking below I see that I didn't. I did but probably failed to properly post it. THANK YOU for the advice. Have ordered wide whitewall radials 205/75R15's from Diamond Back.
