All:
Today I returned home from a car show in Kingston, WA and was shocked by the appearance of a Willys Aero in the rear view mirror. This Aero passed by me in the right hand land and I had another shocker - this sedan had been converted into a pickup ala "El Camino". The body work was absolutely beautiful and in back was an honest to goodness "Willys Overland" tailgate. The paint was a stately steel grey blue. This vehicle was seen in the Bremerton - Port Orchard area. Anybody know the owner?

Don't know the car at all, but would sure like some info and especially pics. Except for the unibody, a pick-up version of the Aero would be a good looking ride.
When I was a kid, maybe 7 or 8 years old, I regularly saw one of two Aeros that I remember from childhood. The maintenance man for the day camp I went to had a green Aero 2-door, maybe a 52 or 53 Lark, Wing or Falcon (I think it was a Falcon). Eventually, he donated it to the camp and crudely cut out the trunk area to make a pick-up truck of sorts. The camp used it for a number of years. I outgrew the camp and lost track of the Aero. I'm sure it was recycled many years ago.
