Title: Heater tube F-head 161
Post by: njpatera on June 05, 2017, 04:59:53 PM
Greetings All! Now that I have some time, trying to get back to making progress. I'm finally getting ready to make a new heater/coolant tube...Question: the 1/2" nipple coming up from the top of the water pump, Is it originally a brass nipple with a compression fitting simply sweated on like I have here? It just seems like an area of weakness as mine came apart as seen in the pictures. I just don't want to do it twice...lol But if it's original that's what I'll do....

I'm not sure why it's so difficult to find this 5/8" tubing near me???? Ugh...well, I guess I'll have to resize and get a temporary set up. Anyone have a source or jobber they have used?

Yes it was brass and I think it is called an inverted flare. The one in the picture looks correct.
