Title: 49 VIN Numbers for reg.
Post by: FrazerWill on April 12, 2010, 11:09:30 AM
I'm trying to get my 49 Frazer registered and was wondering what numbers I use.
The motor number? The tag number?

Thanks, Will

California used motor numbers until 1954 and serial numbers after that.  What numbers are on your title and registration?

Well... It was last registered in Utah. It's not the serial number on the title, if that's what you call what I have. It says its a 1950 on my paper work/card but the serial number is F-496-.....

I want to keep it a 49 when I reg it here.

Does the number on the Utah title match your engine number?  There is a gal named Diann in Monrovia who specializes in old car registrations in CA.  It is Tony's DMV service on Peck Road.  They can do everything from verifying your car to going to DMV for you and getting the plates.  They are the best!
