Title: ALLSTATE electrics
Post by: Corsairdeluxe on December 04, 2017, 02:41:52 PM
My memory ,like the rest of me is not as it once was ,hence the following question. Did all ALLSTATES regardless of the year have  Autolite starter and gen.  or did they switch to Delco in 52?

I have a 1953 Allstate # 116 and it has all Delco.

Although the Service Bulletin identifying Allstate-Specific Parts lists only Auto-Lite equipped engines, some Allstates were probably built with Delco-Remy electronics.  The engines should have the same brand generator, starter, voltage regulator and distributor; spark plugs and batteries were the only Allstate-branded electrical parts on the cars.

The part numbers for the engines on the Allstate-specific list (6-digit part numbers starting with "4" rather than "2") also reflect the Allstate-specific cylinder head (no "Kaiser Supersonic" on it) as part of those motors & the blue rather than green paint jobs.
