Wondered what happened to this car that was previously owned by H.F. Houston in middle Tennessee. Back in the mid-late 1990s we would park our '54 Manhattan next to this car at shows in southern Tennessee. H.F. also had a very nice '54 Manhattan with a continental kit but it was sold from his estate by the time we got up there to check out  his cars following his passing. In 2014 we did haul back a '57 Hudson 2-door Hollywood and a '57 Nash Ambassador Custom that we still have. This taxi cab Frazer always got lots of attention at the car shows.

Was there really such a thing as a 51 Frazer offered as a taxicab? I knew about the 49 Kaisers, but don't seem to find any documentation about Frazers in service, especially Vagabonds. Can anyone shed more light on this?

The 1949 Kaiser was the only car that K-F specifically made as a taxi and few were sold.  Many taxi companies used what ever was available and converted them into taxis just as is done today.  A K-F dealer in New York converted 1948 Frazer's and photos of them exist but they were not authorized by K-F but probably influenced the design K-F used at the factory.

I'm unable to say when this '51 taxi was done. I don't think we ever asked the owner at the time and that goes back to 1995. Attached are pictures from 2014.

Unfortunately by the time we got to see the cars and parts back in 2014, the signs and banners were already gone including those on the outside of the "barn."  The '54 Kaiser had also been acquired by someone. We don't know what became of them. H.F. was a true orphan car enthusiast owning Kaiser, Frazer, Nash, Hudson, Willys, Packard, and Studebaker cars and was quite active back in the 1990s-early 2000s. With the two cars we did bring back there was virtually no paperwork or history other than tag receipts.
