Title: Darrin on new Fantomworks
Post by: r1lark on June 26, 2018, 08:06:22 PM
The new Fantomworks TV show on Velocity (on right now!) has a Darrin that is being worked on. Hard to determine the color. At first it seemed to be beige or pale yellow, but later in the show it looks like white (especially when it was outside in the sun. Owned by "Ken". Ken got it from his Dad, and Fantomworks is getting it driveable again.

EDIT:  Noticed that the Fantomworks folks were driving the car with the doors open. I assume that is not an issue to do that??

Enjoyed the show last night. Now waiting for the '51 Kaiser on Sticker Shock tonight.

Yes, the car can be driven with the doors open. Doing so draws double takes from those around you on the road!

Must be something wrong with my doors, because they slide shut and latch when I drive forward.

Well, the Sticker Shock show on Discovery finally showed the '51 Kaiser. Got dinged for the replacement engine and frame rust but I think the price they put on it was $15k. Also interesting was the Czechoslovakian Tatra they appraised at $30K. The Lang Motor Museum in Nashville has several Tatras and the later 1950-60 models are reminiscent of the design of American cars, really neat.
