Title: Video: "Great Cars: Kaiser"
Post by: r1lark on November 20, 2018, 08:39:12 PM
Here is a 25 minute long video on Kaisers. Many of you have probably seen it, but I had not and there may be some newer Kaiser/Frazer enthusiasts that haven't seen it either. Included is video from the 2004 K-F Convention in Auburn Indiana.

Thanks for finding and sharing this fun video.  It has been awhile since we had over 100 cars at our National Meet but some of those faces and cars are are still attending the meets after all of these years.

The last car shown is Hal Nauman's '52 Henry and parked next to it is my blue '53 Henry J.  That was a fun meet.

I had forgotten about all of the KF folks who attended. Hearing from Russ Spaulding, one of KFs chief photographers, as well as Jim McCloud, who ran the South American operations for a while, brought back a lot of memories from that meet. The big one for me, however, was having the outer rim separate from the face plate on a rear brake drum o my 53 Manhattan. It made for an interesting last 30 miles to the meet but a new drum was sourced and all was well. The tail end of my car appears at about the two minute mark in the video.

The green Traveler at 17:57 looks like mine, does anyone know if Gene Meyer had this car at the national that year? 2004

I remember speaking with Gene there and I do believe he had the dark green '51 Traveler there. I looked through my pictures and videos but my video is so washed out I can't tell if it has a Nebraska plate on it or not. I did take a picture of Gene's '51 Traveler 3 months later in Missouri Valley, IA and you can see for yourself it's got the same plate as the one in the video rlark posted so I'd say it is your car for sure. And a nice one too.
P.S. that video is actually an episode of "Carography" from Fineliving TV in 2004. They shot a lot of the video at the KFOC National in Auburn.
