Title: Darrin side mirrors
Post by: njpatera on December 24, 2018, 05:32:22 PM
Let’s see some pictures of what you are using. I’m still trying to hunt down what was on the old man’s in his pictures and keep striking out. With all the different after market available back then it’s been a chore. I need to get my hands on a fender mounted HJ type.

Exterior mirrors weren’t used on Darrins. Any pictures you see of ones mounted on a car were owner add-ons.

Some states require outside rear view mirrors. Driving a Darrin with the top up and no outside mirrors can be dangerous. I have added a pair of windwing mirrors to my Darrin. I did not want to put mirrors on the fenders that are more than a foot away because I can see in them and I did not want to put holes in the body work that I spent so much time on. The mirrors are mounted  high on the windwing windows. Made of stainless steel and adjustable, they clamp onto the plexiglass. The mirrors are inexpensive and readily available.

Ohio required them...Dad was a cop, so was a little necessary. His were on from the dealer.
