Title: Parts?!?!
Post by: Grays vintage on January 13, 2019, 09:51:37 PM
I have  51 Henry with a 226 race car
I’m in need of various parts ,where does everyone get their parts from ??
I’m in need of the stock  rear end rear cover  and a 226 oil pan
Is there any places that sell these items ? I’m new to the Henry j cars thanks

Are you sure the car has a 226 in it?  If so, it's not stock.  The Henry J six cylinder is a 161 CID made by Willys.  The differences are easy to determine:  the 161 CID has the distributor mounted at an angle through the passenger side of the engine block whereas the 226 has the distributor mounted through the head.  The 226 has the carb, manifold on the passenger side. The 161 has them on the driver side.  Let us know which you have - there  is plenty of help here.

I think I know where some of the confusion may come from. I received the latest Kaiser-Willys Parts Catalog today. It shows a picture of an engine it identifies as a 226 but it's clearly a 161.   www.kaiserwillys.com
