Title: For sale, working 1949-51 Kaiser-Frazer radio
Post by: Fid on March 12, 2019, 07:02:33 PM
For sale, a working 1949-51 Frazer / 1949-early 1951 Kaiser radio model 200002.  It's had all the wax/paper and postage stamp capacitors replaced and tuner cleaned and lubed.  Letting it go at a low price as the knobs and bezels are missing as is the speaker connector. Push buttons are quite nice yet. Many of these were removed from cars by simply cutting the speaker cable with a wire cutter and leaving the round connector behind - that's what was done with this one. I installed a new speaker wire with spade clips which will plug into any 4 ohm speaker with those terminals.  The pictures show it with the face plate that was used when installed in the early 1951 Kaisers (those with the hump in the firewall, see pics).  That face plate was not used when installed in 1949/50 Kaisers and Frazers and the 1951 Frazer.  I will provide tech support for installation and tech advice as well.  Because it's a large, heavy monster and will not fit in a "If it fits it ships" box I'm lowering the price to $90 + shipping.  It's 15 lbs and the box measures 12x16x6 USPS list a rate $48.75 for priority (2 days) and $44.07 ground (5 - 10 days). UPS may be less.  Let me know if you're interested.

The '51-'53 (and early '54 Special) are tall and shallow (see pic) whereas this type is short (height) and long (length.)  The earlier (1949-51) style has plastic knobs, the later one has metal knobs, the earlier ones have 6 push buttons the later have 5...  there's lots of differences.

Yes, 4 ohm speaker.  The earlier radio (1949-51) is GE, the later one Delco.

BTW, check out what ebay sellers are asking for the Delco models. Yes, some are more complete but not a one of them works:

When I Ordered I think 6x9 for Back Speaker in the Dragon.  I said I need a 4 Ohm Speaker.
They said Aircraft Speaker was 4 Ohm Speaker Class.

You know Me even though You won’t see but the back of it in The Trunk. I matched Color @ mounted Conector Plug just like Factory.

Fid,
Average is not a Mint Radio to Rebuild on EBay.

This is Your Best Talent, If Customer has a Show Radio then That’s the One to Rebuild.
