Title: Replacement door handles
Post by: Anderson on April 14, 2019, 03:46:12 PM
Hey guys, I received the 3d scan files from a member several months ago and finally got some quotes back for getting the handles made in stainless or aluminum. For stainless the cost of 2 is $645 ea. Alum for 2 is 395 ea. If there are any questions or inquiry let me know. If the orders are done in higher quantity I'm sure the price could be greatly reduced. I can also reverse engineer other stuff if need be.

I happy to see that the door handle file for 3D printing is being utilized. When I had my handles made of stainless, they turned out exceptionally well and the color looks great even though the escutcheon is chrome. The disparity is hardly noticeable. The start-up company I worked with performed the scan and used the project as a training exercise for their employees. I was told that for an up and running business, the cost for two handles would have been $2300. They accepted $800 for the two. $645 each does not seem that far out of line if their $2300 number is accurate. The original pot metal and after market brass handles are prone to breakage. The stainless handles are tough as, well, stainless. Good luck with your project. Steve
