Can't believe I found a 1954 Kaiser Special (early) on Craigslist near me. It has been modified with a 327, power steering & power brakes. This is a car that is much more comfortable than my original 51 Traveler. It has some small issues, like it needs a right side tail light but just about everything works! Let me know if you have a spare taillight.

Nice! :)
How about some underhood pics?
-
very nice! I love the colors!

Some more info, it has a Nova front end with disc brakes and a Chevelle rear end. The wheel well was cut out of it, maybe it had some rust, and it was covered over so I would be interested in getting it replaced. Need a left vent cable, battery hold down and a radio delete panel too. Here is a photo of the engine.

Is this the replacement for the Traveler or just an addition to the Fleet??? I remember, fairly recent, when you were contemplating selling the Traveler.
It also looks like it has been upgraded to 12 volts.
-
As much as I hate to, I am leaning more towards selling the Traveler to someone that can get it out more. Car shows are few and far between here in Oregon and the new car will be a more comfortable ride. Yes, it is 12v and has cruise control too.

I agree. My first Kaiser was blue with a white top too.

What is the part number for the radio delete plate? I can't find a reference to it in the parts books and I file my parts by part number. Don't know where to look on my parts list. BTW, the right rear tail light lens is a rare one. Saw a few months ago where one changed hands for over $500 on Ebay.

Parts book lists "Cover, radio control (Chrome)" as part number 207568

Thanks, I see one on ebay but it says for 51 52 53, don't know if it would fit a 54.

If it's a '54 Early Special, it will fit it.
-
It's hard to see, but by the picture it looks like it has '54 tail lights.
Is there a red plastic upper lens?
-
yes
-
I have an NOS radio delete plate to fit your car. I’m out of town until Saturday - I’ll pull one out when I get home and post a pic.

I have a used complete right side tail light assembly. Don't want to split it up.
Lenses have some scratches and the chrome has some pits -but not bad
Priced at $225 plus shipping from Illinois.

Right lower 54 tail light lenses are super hard to find. 8)
Often scuffs, scratches and the like can be lightly sanded with super fine sandpaper and buffed out. Takes some time and elbow grease but they can look quite presentable.
Very fair price on the right set. ;)
