Title: Steering Shaft and Steering Gear

The steering shaft disengaged from the steering gear at the steering box on my '54 Special. This was just after the Hydramatic rebuild recently reported. Luckily I was able to push the steering wheel with the shaft attached back down into the gear box and drove to my mechanic, who will be reattaching the shaft to the gear!

Is this The Early 54 Special with the one piece shaft or the late Special with the two piece shaft with the rag joint?
