I am looking into reproducing the Darrin Rear View Mirror. I need to measure and photo an uninstalled mirror. My shop is in O'Fallon, IL near St. Louis, MO. Looking for a source within a reasonable distance. I am restoring #420 which can be seen on my web site: www.ancientgreasegarage.com Any help is greatly appreciated.

Not sure I can help with the mirror - too far away - but I did want to thank you for the seat belt mount pictures on your website. I want to add belts to my car (183) but didn't have good pictures of the mount so that I could have some fabricated.

I will send some pictures of the mirror with some dimensions.
I will also send pictures and dimensions for the seat belt brackets.
Check tomorrow.

Joe and Darrin502...I sent some drawings, measurements and pictures of the seat belts and brackets to Bill Morgan last year. I believe he made a set for a Darrin that was shown in TN meet last year.

Here are the pictures and dimensions for the mirror and the seat belt bracket. Hope they help.
I will have to do 2 reply's to get all the pictures in.

Forgot to mention the original mirror is shaded glass.
I do not think the original seat belt brackets were Chrome.

My seat belt brackets were not chromed. Jack

This is the first time I've seen a Kaiser Safety Belt Buckle!!
Has any one made any??
Are there any available??
-
Thanks for the drawing much better then my picture.
The seat belt buckle is interesting, I have never seen one. It might have been easier to have a K monogrammed by someone who does this on metal.

darrin502....thanks so much for the pictures and measurements of the mirror. I am making a die to press the mirror body. Would it be possible to take a picture from the side of the mirror so the I can determine how deep the form on the back of the mirror is, and a close up of the edge of the mirror so that i can get a better view of the edge detail? Any other details you view as important are greatly appreciated.

darrin502...I forgot. Is the mirror stainless steel of chromed steel?
-
It is SS I may have one I can send to you just give me your address.
When your done just send it back.

Just to bring this back full circle, seven Darrin rear view mirrors were reproduced thanks to the Club members and Darrin owners.

Any chance that a mirror is still available to purchase.

Ed,
I'll look through the mirror parts I had left over from the run and see if I can assemble another one for you.
