Does anyone know if the hood emblems for the '47-'48 Frazer's were made by 1 vendor or would there have been multiple suppliers? Also what would designate the supplier? Are there any markings on the back? Thanks in advance for any information.

I think that ORIGINALLY 47-48 Frazers had no hood ornament, but in 49 the factory starting installing them and offering to retrofit 47-48's with them. I'm not sure about that, and I'm sure someone on here can give us all better information.

Logan, Sorry I wasn't clear with the question. I was referring to the coat of arms emblem, not the hood ornament.

Oh, that's right. You actually did say emblem. My bad.

The design of the Kaiser and Frazer hood emblems (the coat of arms for Frazer, K and buffalo for Kaiser) were unique and were copyrighted by the company. As far as I know, there was only one supplier who is long gone from the business world. The Frazer emblem in particular was a complex project owing to the precise placement of the various colors.

I 've had several Frazer coat of arms emblems, but 1 of them has Fox Company Cincinnati Oh stamped on the back. It is the only 1 I have with that stamping. If anyone has a '47-'48 emblem, could you look at the back for a manufacturers stamp? Thanks again!

I have 2 of the Frazer emblems. Neither has any stampings at all on the back. One of them appears to be NOS with some shelf wear and the other shows definite wear and tarnish etc.
