Tom,

If the intent is to get an old radio working, remember that the electrolitic capacitors (the metal "cans" as well as the smaller units wired into the circuit) deteriorate with age, regardless of use.

I repair radios and have a couple of those laying around. Which parts do you need? I may be able to get them to you.

Thanks guys, I have been in the commercial electronics business over 50 years so the pitfalls are well known. What I need is the PERMABILITY TUNING UNIT as described in GE RADIO SERVICE DATA # ER-S-231 or the tuning shaft/gear assembly #RMU-25. Would be happy to remove the item and return the radio. I can send  picture from the service data sheet. The radio must be one with the auto tune function. Thanks, Tom

I have a 48 Frazer Manhattan and the radio is not working. I saw in responses to the original post that there is someone who may repair radios.

I am thinking I would like to get my radio in working condition. Alternately, is there a source for 6v radios that can be installed as aftermarket ( maybe install in the glove box)?
