Title: WATER PUMP TO HEATER TUBE.

HOW MANY PEOPLE WOULD BE WILLING TO PAY 1/2 THE COST  OF A STAINLESS STEEL TUBE REPLACEMENT, THE BALANCE OF THE COST ON DELIVERY TO GET THE PROJECT STARTED , I'LL COUNT THE VIEW HITS AND JUDGE FROM THAT

A stainless steel pipe would not be considered original for judging purposes.

They could be painted black but why not just make the replacement like the originals which should last many years.

Believe Larry Barker has already taken this on as a project.   I would suggest checking with him before proceeding.

Good point, i'll check with him. the problem with the original tubes was it had a seam in it that tended to rust out in 5-10 years in those days as people onlu put in water and alcohol in the winter.I DID ALL THE TIME IN THE 49  THEN THE 53

Why not add a rust inhibitor with the mixture?

How about using copper tubing?....  won't rust....   easy to form

Back in the 50's and 60's we added water soluble oil to the radiator. It was called "water pump
lubricant". My Dad drove his '53 kaiser for 17 years and never had that water tube and only one
frost plug rust through. Not bad for  plain old steel.
