Does anyone make the correct green/grayish-beige striped fabric for a '48 Special?Any help would be appreciated.
-
I do not, however, LeBaron Bonney has a pattern available that is real close. A friend used it on his 48K and it fooled the judges at a national.

The Chief Judge has never bothered to deal with the issue of "acceptiable alternatives" to various items (things that are close because the original type or model part is no longer made) and there is little chance that demand will merit the investment in loom cards, tooling, etc to reproduce the original

I got a sample of that fabric from Lebarron Bonney a few years ago. It is fairly close. Just haven't been able to afford to get it yet. I also got samples from sms. They didn't have anything as close, but said that they could reproduce the original but it was way more than I'm willing to spend. I think it was well over $100 yard.

This is frustrating. The headliner, rear seat, and rear door panels in my car are excellent original upholstery. The front seat is coming apart and the front door panels have water stains. I would love to redo the "******pit" and leave the rest original, but not if it doesn't match....

That being the case ... find out if SMS would make a short run of perfect match material. $125 a yd for 3 yds would be much better than if you need 10 or 12 yards for the whole interior

This is the problem with our cars: many upholstery choices, little demand. I have heard the SMS is good, though, and I know they are reproducing the bamboo vinyl and Laguna cloth, both of which I need to get for my Dragon--just not yet.
