Is the only difference between the "51 kaiser Deluxe front bumper guard and the 54-55 Kaiser
front bumper guards, the angle of the cut on the side of the guard?
-
It seems that in the dim ages of the past I once made template of the two pieces and convinced myself that they appeared cut from the same shaped piece.
-
As near as I can tell, yes. I have a '54 and knew the front bumper was from the '51 so I've been studying them, but never had them apart to compare.
-
The way they bolt on are also different on the 54s from the 51s. Early 51s had the bolt go all the way through the bumper guard.
-
While my stuff is still in transit, I can tell you from prior experience they have totally different part numbers and are not considered interchangeable.
-
Yes, the only difference is the cut of the guard. You can put 51 guards on a 54 and visa versa. Some, however, used a slotted tab to accept a bolt and others had a threaded stud welded in place. I have both versions of both years around here somewhere.
1951 Specials used a different guard altogether that had a welded stud.

Joefrazer, I am still looking for a RF/LR for my '51 kaiser Deluxe if you have one. The other three
I already have use a bolt that is welded to the inside of the bumper guard. NOS or a good
one in need of a re chrome would be fine.
