Title: Another Darrin restoration completed.
Post by: kaiservagabond on July 29, 2012, 07:15:30 PM
This is a little bit old but I thought the owner was going to put his Darrin #138 on the forum.  But then I found out that won't use the computer, so I told him I'd do it if that was OK.  He said to go ahead.  So here it is ..    Darrin #138 hit the road on May 17, 2011.  It's running great and he's had it in several car shows around the San Antonio area and not only does it get a lot of attention but a lot of 1st place awards.  The car belongs to Rod & Delpha Staggs of San Antonio.  He's 80 like me and is a retired aircraft electrical engineer.  I guess it took him about 5 years but 'got her done'.  I saw it about 3 years ago before it went to the paint shop and like most of the Darrin's that sat around and weren't taken  care of the outside paint, yellow, and Gel-Coat was nearly all gone.  One thing was in his favor was that he had garage/barn in his back yard where he go go to work on it when ever he wanted to.  Congratulations to Rod for a job well done.
