Title: Dragon for sale on ebay
Post by: Fid on September 17, 2012, 08:56:29 AM

It looks nice, I really like that color, but I question whether the interior (at least the cloth part on the seats) and the lining in the trunk is actually original as the ad states. I don't recall ever seeing any like that but of course, I have not seen them all so I don't know. Any comments from those who do?

Wonder what a dream drives like?   :D

What caught my eye was the 15 bids. That is encouraging since not all are going to be highly motivated KFOCI members. That means people know what a Dragon is and assign it a collectors level value.

Maybe but those 15 bids are only 4 or 5 actual bidders

There are 7 unique ID's who've placed a bid on the Dragon.

OK OK I was being Grumpy.  7 unique bidders who have placed 20 bids.
More interest than I have ever seen on a Carolina.   :)
With a little work it could be brought back to original

$15,500.00 probably is about right for this economy, it will take another 1200.00 it make the upholstery correct. the insert material will cost $100.00 per yard X 6 yards of Boucle vinyl if it is a all vinyl Dragon somewhat more if a Laguna cloth to account for the tuck& roll on the seats and doors . Hope the head liner stays up. most have had enough condensation between the liner and metal and the insulation has all fallen off the metal by now and the listing that holds the headliner to the bows are probably rusted and deteriorated. I finished my A.V. Dragon last year Green & White and cept track of all the major restoration materials NO LABOR and the figure $19,000 and change.

But the ad says the interior is original. I'm sure the seller is not aware that it is not and that was my point. It would still make someone a nice car as it is but I don't like it when cars are misrepresented. Of course if the seller bought it from someone that lied about it, the lie will continue.

I see this is relisted on ebay by the owner. New add  is quite different from the last.  As to  paint,   interior, and originality . Price is lower too at $9000 or $14000 buy it now.

I suspect some knolwedgeable KF folks communicated with him and based on that he adjusted content and price.  Thanks if you did. It benefits him and the next owner, if a bit uninformed.  That is always chancy, to let an ebayer know of some "issues" because folks have thin skins sometimes and bite back, but - if the advice is offered and understood then the seller knows one reason then why reserve was not met or a sale did not occur and then they adjust accordingly.

Roadmaster 49,

This is all true with any sale. If You tell everything You can of original or not this is the best way. One buyer may want to Drive it & Show for fun.  Or will  know what needs to be done for a serious Show Vehicle.
I think Buyer & Seller will be in a win win deal.
What You see is What You get.
