Were many 52/53 Manhattans built with power steering?
-
Power steering became an option in the 1953 model year NOT 1952. It was announced in the spring of 1953 and less than 1,200 Kaisers had it. Any series Kaiser from Carolina to Dragon could have been ordered with P/S once it was announced. To help sell Dragons, Kaiser-Frazer made it a no-cost accessory (dealers could order with or without at no difference in price) in April 1953.
Please check out your KFOCI HANDBOOK Version 4.0 for more information on this.

Thank you Jack. :)

What parts are needed to convert to power steering?
I know it requires: a pump, hydraulic ram and pulleys. Is there anything else?
Also: Isn't the power steering setup on Oldsmobiles the same as on Kaisers? If so, what year Olds might have that setup?

GM products used a unit from Saginaw Steering Gear; Kaiser-Frazer used a unit they got from Monroe. Certain late 1950's AMC units easily swap over. I would suggest you contact Dale Hammon in Beloit WI for more information on this.
