Title: Fuel Door Spring
Post by: KYFrazer on May 06, 2009, 08:32:05 AM
What held the fuel door open on the '47 Frazers?  We thought maybe a spring but have not found anything that would work.  Ideas?  Advice?  Thanks.

Yes, there is a spring that holds the door open. The spring has an odd shape...it consists of 2 coils, one at each end of a length of spring wire that rides beneath the door. The spring ends attach to the door and then fit under tabs on the body. Hard to explain clearly here but that's how it works.

I guess that my spring is weak as every time I get on the Interstate my gas lid door sticks straight up in the open position.

Anyone have an idea where I might find one?
