What is the trick to remove the wires from the Overdrive Connector on a late model Kaiser.
Trying to make a new overdrive harness and can not see how to replace the wires on the connector end.
I do have one better than the broken one shown.
Thanks in advance for the advice.

The ones that I have sent to Bob McBride indicate that he drills the center rivet out and separates it. Then uses a nut and bolt to refasten them. The nut/bolt is well concealed by the new wires.

Thanks we will try it!!!

That's exactly what I did on my 53 Kaiser about 20 years ago...works great!

Mr. McBride did that to ours also, and there have been no problems with it! Drove the car on a 30 mile round trip today without any problems, knock on wood!! OD now working fine!

If you don't have a plug or what you have is damaged, you can use a 3 prong headlight socket and a separate female spade connection for the 4th terminal. Use the separate terminal on the spade closest to the firewall and the headlight plug will cover it up so it will appear to be a 4 prong plug.

Excellent idea for a work-around, HJ-ETEX!
