Post by: xkssfrank on October 15, 2013, 09:34:49 PM
My 1953 Dragon shocks my arm when resting on the door and I press the horn ring, seems like it is trying to ground thru my arm, any thoughts??

Both my 48 and my 53 did the same thing. It's time to replace the rubber insulator. The KFOCI manufacturing fund sells new ones for $13.

The horn ring is loose on my 51 DeLuxe too. Previous owner just electrically bypassed this horn ring for a switch underneeth the dash. I would like to put it back original. How can i buy one of those replacement rubber ?
Thanks,
Regards,

Bernie.

They are sold thru the Manufacturing Fund as part of KFOCI.
Are you a KFOCI member?

Where is the rubber horn insulator located and what is involved in replacement?

The insulator is located beneath the horn ring. If you take off the button, you'll see it.

The easiest way to remove the button (that I found, anyway) was to use rubber gloves, press real hard and turn the medallion.
