Title: Difficulty renewing membership
Post by: Gordie on December 28, 2013, 03:28:37 PM
Since my membership is expiring I decided to use the renewal link in the new Bulletin to make the job easier.  After getting the renewal link  I was told to put in my secret password which is now invalid.  The Google link required that I get a Google email account to proceed.  I gave up and will mail a check for renewal but why do we need a password to renew our membership?  This is not user friendly.

I am in agreement with Gordie. I will not sign up with any third party to access anything. No social media,no ecards, no,email providers,no nothing. This is a glitch on an otherwise commendable site.Remember NOTHING is free. The more of your information out there the sooner you get bit!

If you need a new temporary password, contact the club Secretary ... then once you're "in" be sure to change it to something you will remember for future website access.

I have a password issued by the club several years ago but the site says it is invalid.  I will just continue to mail a check for renewals.  Why make it difficult to join the club?   I don't need a password to renew by mail.

The renewal link worked great for me, no problems.  Logged right in and paid via Pay Pal.   8)

...course, there's nothing wrong with a stamp, envelope, and check either.  Having choices  is great, like the e-mailed Bulletin and the snail mailed Bulletin.  Not sayin, just sayin... ;)

The system, as set up several years ago, didn't account for several advances in technology (who knew?). We are working to redesign the membership pages to make on line renewals a seamless process. Passwords expire if not used yearly and that's causing some of the problem. Anyone trying to renew and experiencing password related issues is encouraged to contact the club secretary who will reset it. Once reset, you will be able to change your password, if so desired.

Thanks

I was able to renew a few weeks ago with no problem.  Just in case anyone cares. :)
