My dad an I own 4 of them between us. I own 2 and he owns 2, all of which are in my care:
1953 Henry J Corsair Deluxe
1952 Henry J Vagabond
1951 Henry J which was specially built for Edgar Kaiser (my dad's car)
1951 Kaiser Special 4 door sedan (my dad's car)

All are well maintained drive-anywhere cars.
I drove the '51 Kaiser Special to the meet in Sioux City, IA a couple of weeks ago. Put almost 600 miles on it, what great running/driving car.

Jeez, I feel like a piker with only eight K-F products.  A 1947 Graham Paige Frazer, a 1948 Frazer, two 1948 Frazer Manhattans, a 1951 Kaiser club coupe, a 1951 Kaiser custom convertible, a 1953 Willys Eagle and a 1954 Willys Eagle Custom.  I do have 32 other vehicles though so they pretty well fill up my garage!  Gordie

That is a beautiful 1951 Frazer!  Just curious as where you got it - I looked at one that color in Omaha, NE back in 1978. I did not buy it but I've always wondered what happened to it and if it survives today.

Fid, it was bought in Des Moines Iowa by my father a long time ago (I was 14 at the time, now 43). He was a member of KFOCI, not sure that he still is after selling me the car.

As far as I know the car was never for sale in Omaha. Even though we used to live in Bellevue and went to several shows a year with the car.  She is in good shape but needs a little TLC after sitting undriven for about 5 years. Dad had 2 strokes and couldn't give her the attention that she needed or deserved.

I did drive her all of the way back from Evanston Wyoming 5 years ago and only had 1 problem. Burned up a U-joint going through the mountains. Other than that she ran great.

I plan on making a few shows with her this year.

Wow, the timing sure sounds right. I looked at the car I'm refering to in Omaha in 1978, right about when you would've been close to 14. The reason we did not buy the car was because the seller could not produce a title. He was going through a divorce and told us the title was in a safe deposit box in Des Moines! Since we knew the guy for a long time, and knew what a shady character he was, we passed. His X lived in Des Moines and we were afraid we would not be able to obtain the title. We got into a bit of a snit with the guy and decided to walk away. It was a '51 Frazer, same color, and he had purchased it in Crete, Nebraska in 1971.  I would not be surprised if it was the same car. The guy's X-wife's name was Wanda.

At this time, I own a 1954 Willys Aero Eagle (Old Toby) that I bought in 1978 and a 1952 Kaiser Manhattan 2-door Traveler that I bought in 2003. Do we get to count the cars we used to own? 10 or 11 or 12 other Willys Aeros, 1 '51 Henry J and 1 '51 Kaiser Deluxe 2-door.
P.S. the new website looks great!

Fid. We purchased the car from the son of a Dr that bought the car new that also lived in Des Moines. We took a day and went sightseeing and picked up the car from him and drove her back. When we got the car it wasn't in very good shape. The interior was rough, the paint was cracking from way too many coats of corn laquer paint. We stripped the car, straightened the body work. And had Max's body shop in Millard NE paint the car. (Max is a freind of Dad's)

The interior work dad and I did ourselves and I think that it turned out great.

The drivetrain was supposedly freshened up just before we got it and they rolled back the odometer so we have no idea how many "true" miles are on the car. The odometer now reads 10,195.

Its a great car that I love owning and driving when I get the chance. I have some more pics of the car if you are interested. Send me an email or a PM and I will send some to you.

Chris

Once again, very nice car!  Here's the only photo I have of the one I have been looking for (https://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a6cf04b3127cceede65f8fa8fb00000030O01SatmLdmyB7efAA/cC/f%3D0/ls%3D00203070160520161126032731731.JPG/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/)
The photo was taken in Omaha circa 1972. The last time I saw the car, it had been painted, upholstery done and mostly reassembled. That was 1978 and it had a lot of promise.  For years it sat in a driveway along Martin Drive or Fontanelle Blvd, right where that railroad bridge was removed in the late 70s. Where is it now?  That is my question.

Lets see, between my father and myself we have a total of six Kaisers. Dads' 54 Kaiser manhattan and a 54 parts car. A 53 DeLuxe Sedan (parts), A 52 Kaiser Manhattan (restoreable), The 47 Kaiser Special recently aquired from my other father Verner Glenn. And the pride of the managerie, the barn saved 51 Kaiser Special. All of the Kaisers we own are 4-door sedans. We are not so intrested in Frazers even though I think the 49 Frazer Manhattan is quite beutiful. The collection would not be complete without a Willys. I am always looking for a 43 Willys Jeep with a war story ans bullet holes in it! Lets see what I can find!

I have only a '48 Kaiser that my grandfather bought from the original owner in 1963. Dad drove it to high school and then it mostly sat in the Iowa weather for the better part of 25 years until I got it in 1997. Started restoration then but then my first son was born and that got put on hold. Now he's 12 and interested in cars so I'm trying to get back to working on it.

Dad also owned a Henry J. I believe '52. He left it in my uncles barn many years ago and it rotted, along with the barn, to the point that the barn fell in on it so my uncle just had the whole thing bulldozed and cleared out.

Title: Re: POLL: How Many Kaiser Frazer Or Willys Products Do You Own?
Post by: joefrazer on September 30, 2014, 07:20:55 PM
Well, let's see. I've owned 69 vehicles over the years and there are a few in the bunch I wish I'd have kept. The hemi Road Runner, the Darrin, and the 1971 Riviera are just a few.

Today, the KF stable consists of:
- 1954 Henry J. It arrived in pieces and I'm currently reassembling a big puzzle.
- 1954 Kaiser Manhattan. My father was the first titled owner...the dealership, Raymond Lake KF here in Cleveland kept the car until 1964 and used it as a parts runner for their Buick garage. The car has gone thru four engines and has about 317K on the odometer.
- 1953 Kaiser Manhattan. It sports a very nice, original interior and a paint job that was applied in my driveway. And it shows...but I don't care because it's fun to drive...and it's a Kaiser!
- 1950 Kaiser Traveler. Originally a Texas car, the first owner used it to pull a 40ft mobile home between his winter home in Odessa and his summer place in Bakersfield, CA. The engine was so worn I could move the pistons around in their bores. After a well deserved rebuild, I'll drive it anywhere...and have!
- 1947 Kaiser Special parts car.

Just a few KFWs that got away:
- The aforementioned Darrin
- A 12K mile 1954 Late Special that didn't have one straight body panel. Abused by every kid in the neighborhood, I rescued it and used it as a parts car.
- The first Kaiser I ever purchased - a 1949 Kaiser Special. I paid all of $50 for it so that should tell you what I got. I'm one of the rare ones though, I resold it for a profit...I made ten bucks.
- 1954 Willys Aero Eagle Custom. I sold it because I didn't have the storage space and then a few months later, bought a nice big barn that came with a house. Live and learn...
- 1952 Kaiser Virginian Traveler. So rusty that you didn't need to open the door to get something from inside. I liberated the few usable parts and today, I'm sure it's a fleet of Toyotas.
- Not one, but three 1950s Willys station wagons. A friend ran a gas station years ago and used them in the service business. They were worn out so we parted them out and sent them off to become yet more Toyotas.

Just one.  1952 Henry J Corsair Deluxe.  Though we previously had a 1952 HJ Vagabond as well, but it was purchased (rather cheaply) for the engine only, it was extremely rough shape (decent body panels all around with only surface rust, but no floor pans left whatsoever, most wiring gone or chewed up, no interior bits to speak of, etc).  Had the 6-cylinder engine rebuilt and gave the "carcass" of the Vagabond to the fellow that rebuilt it as payment for the job, as he wanted an HJ to pro-street (surprise, surprise).
