Title: converting a kaiser with overdrive to 12volts

I have converted several cars to 12 volts, but none with overdrive. I know how to drop the voltage to the instuments and to the wiper and fan motors.  What do I do to the electrical part of the overdrive?  All responses are appreciated.

12V overdrive relays and solenoids are available. Ford used them thru the 50s. A quick check on ebay and I found several of each.
