Title: All American Originals Car Show
Post by: BigDave LM6174 on June 20, 2014, 01:16:08 AM
Looking forward to a unique car show this coming Sunday in Tustin, CA.  only stock and original cars are accepted.  This is the 5th year, and I hear they really do turn away the non original cars.  You can read about it on their website.  I will be taking our 51 Deluxe to the show.

It's a bit of a  drive for me Dave! I will be attending the MSRA "Back To The 50s" weekend in Saint Paul. One of the largest car shows in the country. They have just over 10,000 cars registered right now.  I think the most they've ever had was 12,000 a couple of years ago. The weather may be scaring some (myself included) away as it's rained or stormed almost everyday here since April 1. Today included. But have fun, I wish I could be there as it sounds like fun and as the song goes "It Never Rains In Southern California..."

I just looked at the site Dave. That sounds like my kind of show. Maybe I'll have to start something like that here.

I stopped down at "Back to The 50s" tonight. They said 12,000 cars registered. MOre than I could look at tonight but I'll be back tomorrow and Sunday.  Here's an interesting sample of what spectators got to see tonight -

I saw five Henry Js there, no Kaisers or Frazers. There will likely be some tomorrow as there always is.
Interesting thing tonight was of the 5 Henry Js there, four of them were '52 Vagabonds.

Lowell,
No need to start one in Minnesota we already have one (or two if you count the Maple Plain show). The Excelsior Concours show is all original  cars but they do allow non American cars.

They just announced on the radio that as of 12 noon today, there have been 11,816 cars admitted into the Fairgrounds here for the show. They're still coming in - my guess is before tomorrow's over they'll break the 13,000 record. It's a sea of people and cars! You can barely walk.  I still have not spotted a Kaiser yet. Perhaps they all went to the national. Can't say I blame them but it's not in the cards for me this year.

The Darrin took first place in our 1949-1954 class, and our 51 Kaiser took second/special recognition.  Great day for the two Kaisers!  Here is my proud boy with the trophy
