It's official...the Kaiser-Frazer Owners Club membership has approved a proposal to occupy a site at the Ypsilanti Automotive Heritage Museum in Ypsilanti, Michigan. For many years, many of our members have dreamed of having museum space we could call our own, and now it's happening!
There's still alot of work to do, but we're going to soon start the work to get the club into the space. So stay tuned, more to come!

Many questions will arise as time goes on. First and most importantly about donations: Is it 501c3 tax deductible? Where do we send money? Can we donate KF related materials and cars? Most importantly, will Willys stuff be acceptable?
-
The answer is yes to all of the above!

All:
The Corvair Museum has been housed with the Ypsilantii Automotive Heritage Collection since 1994. The Corvair Preservation Foundation runs the Corvair Museum. The Collection occupies 3 adjacent buildings in downtown Ypsilanti. The western-most building is the Miller Building, the last operating Hudson dealership. The eastern-most building houses Kaiser-Frazier and Tucker Cars and memorabilia. The center building houses more modern cars including Corvairs. Although I have never been to this museum, I have heard from fellow Corvair owners that it is a place well worth visiting. See links for more details.

actually, they are all in the same building, i.e., one entrance/one roof, just separate areas.
it is not a large building, but packed with "stuff"
if one is ever in the area, make sure to visit the firehouse museum just up the road

I look forward to sending my donation today. I have not checked out any links above, just noting. Is it too early to send money and if so I would need to specify it is in support of the KF project, correct?
-
Hang on to your donation for now. The KF Foundation is still in the works...we will formally announce the museum's opening. Thanks everyone for your interest!
-
I suggest the KF Foundation follow the example of the Hudson Es*** Terraplane Historical Society that was set-up about 10 years ago as a 501c3 foundation wholly separate from the HET club, with it's own set of by-laws and officers.
-
Way ahead of you...we're modeling some of foundation after theirs and others that are similar. Work has already started and we're anxious to get the display work moving along.
-
Funny censorship device: the Hudson Es*** Terraplane Club had the S-E-X edited out of the title.

You know how s-e-xy Ess-exes are: my grandpa dated my grandma in one--no muffler, so she could hear him roaring up to the rural house she grew up in from a long distance out!
