Hey, I recently acquired my great grandfathers 48 Kaiser Frazer. It has been in my family since the car was bought. It has been stored for the last 38 years and hasn't run since then. I am looking for a reliable shop somewhere in the midwest that possibly could get the engine running for me. I dont have the tools or the knowhow to restore the engine, so I am planning on restoring the rest of the car while the engine is out at a shop (hopefully). Anyone know anyone?

I've heard "Yesterday's Autos" in Minneapolis can do it. Here's their website - http://www.yesterdaysauto.com/home.htm

Dude, I'm pretty sure they're gone. Erv and I went by there in July, and it's a vacant building now.
I guess it couldn't hurt trying to give them a call, though.

Some places forget to take their websites down but I also heard they moved to Robinsdale or NE Mpls. Could be, I know that guy here in town that has the '51 Frazer had the engine overhauled locally in 2002 and I think they did it. I guess a person could call on Tues.

Hi, congratulations on your recent acquisition. So is it a Frazer?

I placed a call to foreverauto, and I am still waiting to hear back from them. The number had kind of a general answering machine so it might not even be the right number. I have found a guy that repairs 50's willy's and old military trucks out in buffalo. He has never done a full restore but he has all of the parts and dies all of the repair for them. I am going down to pick it up this weekend so I will have to post some pictures and whatnot. Thanks again for all your help. And if you find any more shops keep me posted.

That's right, there's also Northstar Willys in Dassell, MN. They have all the engine stuff and might be able to recommend someone. Their website www.northstarwillys.com is very helpful.
