I'm trying to get my 49 running to take to the Orange Empire Railway Museum meet.
The motor starts and runs good, but I've only had it run for a minute, no water, changed the oil in the motor, not the trans yet, the electric is unhooked from the rest of the car at the starting solenoid. Kaiser Bill told me how to do all this.
My first thing I'm working on is:
On the side of the motor, in front, that "L" pipe with the straight hoses.
Q. Where do I get these hoses and not have to pay $18 a foot from Napa auto ?
Q. If I remember right from John Parker back in the 70's, I use a sink drain pipe with the "L" in it for that, Yes ?
I also need to jerry a small gas can under the hood, any ideas? I don't have a good fuel pump on it yet. I just need enough gas to drive the car on and off the trailer...
Thanks, Will in Whittier, Ca.

The upper hose is available at NAPA. It's part number 777 and retails for about $12.00.
The lower hose is an 8484, take your old one in to ensure the opening is correct. You'll need to cut to fit as it's longer on one end. It's about $12.00 as well. With this hose, you do not need the metal tube.

Yes, you can while you check for leaks.

Me again, I didn't get my 49 running yet. Missed taking it to the RR meet. Now still trying to get it going for the meet at Dave Ball's house in a few weeks. I'm getting a friend who does old cars to help get it going.
I need a ignition lock and key.
Who do we go to for parts now?
Thanks, William
