Title: Frazer vagabond
Post by: R-Sargent on December 02, 2014, 01:27:52 AM
Back in the mid seventies i owned and restored a 51 Vagabond , long gone it's in a museum now so i can at least go visit it . My question is under the wood strips was linoleum flooring that matched the green interior and at the time i could not find a suitable replacement so we used black . Speed ahead fourty years and now i have another 51 Vagabond ,actually two or maybe three if the other half agree's but anyway did all of these come with a floor covering under the wood and are there any sources to purchase ?   These cars have green interiors also.

I guess i need to rephrase my question , has anyone ever seen another kf utility sedan with a flooring material under the wood ?  It matched so well i always thought it was stock .  Another question is about the vinyl covers that were on the upper deck lid hinges, they are missing on all three of my cars so i am going to attempt to reproduce them . Were they wrapped around the hinge  after assembly and wired together or were they sewn and slipped over the hinge before the lid went on ?

As I recall, the ones (vinyl covers) I've seen had snaps on them.

On both the Traveler and Vagabond, there was no flooring material used under the slats. They mounted directly to the metal deck with just a thin strip of insulation material.

The car's original owner was a funeral home , they used it for a flower car so maybe they had it installed under the wood for some reason.
