Title: Coming home
Post by: KFDarrin#164 on January 18, 2015, 10:25:42 PM
#164 has been getting a mechanical restoration for a few months and I will be picking it up tomorrow.  Nice that the restoration shop is just about 4 miles down the street.
Actually went to pick it up last week and it ran fine sitting in the parking area at the shop. However, I took it for a once around the block test drive and when I get back to the shop entrance.. it dies.  Couldn't get it cranked, so I just asked for another week to see what the matter of the cranking might be.  That seems to be worked out.. and I will get the car in the AM.

But I must say the flood of memories came back to me as I drove the Darrin for the first time in over 13 years.  It drove and sounded just as it did as it always has.  I can't wait to get it back and do some driving around town.

Here is my daily driver Darrin before and after. I installed a 1954 Cadillac V8 and a 1953 hydromatic. I to love driving the car, its get a lot of thumbs up. We need more Kaisers on the road.
