This is NOS.
I'm listing it by what is written on it--If I'm wrong, correct me.

When you bought a 47 or 48, you had the option of a heater or heater with defroster. Owners of the former soon realized the latter was needed so what you have was offered. This is the defroster motor addition to the base heater.

The very first parts and accessory bulletin printed by K-F on November 14 1946 was for the announcement for the heater and defroster as a unit and I have never seen an offering of the heater by itself although they must have sold some that way. My 1946 G.P. Frazer has a factory heater with no defroster and a plug in the top of the dash board filling the hole there for the control switch. Defroster kits were sold separately as I found a nos one in the box but maybe they were intended to be replacements for ones that broke or failed in service. Since heaters and defrosters were sold as a unit and came together as a set it is interesting that some K-F cars would have had only the heater installed and not the defroster. My car is the only one I have seen without the defroster.
