Title: Key Blanks
Post by: IowaTom on March 09, 2015, 03:58:43 PM
Guys - In anticipation of getting my car (eventually) I ordered two sets of blanks from the fellow in the News Bulletin a few weeks ago but nothing's come yet.
He doesn't provide an email address or phone, just postal address.  Has anyone else sent him $$?

I've purchased several sets from  him on several different occasions.  No problems.

His key blanks are excellent and worth the wait.  You will be very pleased with them.

I totally understand, Richard!  The gent from whom I bought the car sent me the glovebox lock that I hope to have a locksmith make a key, so he can close the trunk to ship the car.  Vendors are the life blood of our passion and without guys like you it'd be a lot harder to keep our cars on the road.
Thank you so much for what you do and I look forward to getting mine home and on the road!

NOW THAT YOU HAVE THE KEYS WHAT DO YOU THINK. Every car that was delivered had (2) TWO sets given to the new owner. Two of members went to WALMART hobby section bought EAR RING clamps glued them to the  K  KEY BLANKS and the significient other showed up with them at a good guys meet

I have one set of the nice ones, and three sets of generic yale keys for mine, so I won't loose them.  As the nice ones are pretty light, I use them mostly for show, although they will work in the locks.

Although they are light they worked in all of the later Kaisers.  My original keys in my '51 still look like new.  Don't be afraid to use them.  The '51 Frazer's used the same key except that they had an "F" instead of the "K".  Those key blanks are very hard to find.

Could someone kindly give me coordinates for the 84-year old gentleman who had some K key blanks made at his own expense.  I need some for my '51 Special.

Thanks, Jan

He is Richard Hansen, 3325 Houghton Ave., Corning CA, 96021  $10.00 including shipping.  They are excellent reproductions and we are lucky to be able to have them.  When this supply runs out you will all be wishing that you had bought a couple of sets.

My local NAPA made me a set of spare keys for my 54 the man who works there said they have only old blanks, I am sure that may be in old hardware stores also

Les - how much were you paid for all that product placement? I see PNW Traveler, State of Nebraska and Dana College.
