Title: Windshield Washer Kit installation in 53 Kaiser
Post by: AZ_HJ on June 20, 2015, 08:30:44 PM
Does anyone have the installation instructions for a Windshield Washer Kit for a1953 Kaiser. I would also like to see any pictures anyone has of this accessory installed in a late model Kaiser.

It is the same as 1951, 1952 and 1954 Early Special.  Does the car have electric or vacuum wipers?

It is a 1953 Kaiser Traveler with vacuum wipers.

Attached are a couple pix of the physical installation in my 53K.

On yours, the center port on the lid is the vacuum 'in' line. The plastic port is the fluid out line that runs to your washer nozzles.

For vacuum, tap into a vacuum source and run that line to the button. From the button, run another line to the center port of the bottle.

Joe where does the hose go through the fire wall from the vacuum source to the button? Also can you send pics on washer nozzles on the outer cowl?

On my car, they fed the vacuum line in thru the same slot used for the vent cables.

Here's a picture of the washer jet installed on my 53. Keep in mind my car has electric wipers so the post mount (bezel) is different than those used on vacuum wiper equipped cars.
