Copy shows TRAVELER as type, but pictures are of regular 4-door sedan.

Correct, it's not a Traveler but just a Special. Very similar to the one I have here except it's the later one with the thin stainless rub-rail trim. The one I have is an early one with no trim at all.

Owners of 1951 Kaiser Specials with no stainless lower molding should be aware that the factory released a dealer-installable accessory kit to put the wide stainless of the Deluxe on the special.  Although the kit was removed from the option list in January 1951, dealers & distributors could still have stock on hand and could continue to use as required by their customers.

This is also noted in KFOCI HANDBOOK which is a perk for being a regular member (annual renewal or life member only) of the KFOCI.  It is considered a publication & associate members do not get publications.

I have been aware of that for many years.  No intention of upgrading this one with extra trim. This was a couple's honeymoon car and I have the paper work for it. It was purchased new in Aug of 1950 and even though it's the cheap one,  it was still shipped with overdrive and a factory radio (the early style). No horn ring though. There needs to be at least one authentic example of a bare-bones Special preserved and I'm happy to do it.
