Title: need '51 Henry J hood ornament waffle clip

I need a good waffle clip that holds the plastic cone to the hood ornament spear on a '51 Henry J. Or tell me what will work. Thanks

What be waffle clip?

Cone was originally held on with a drive pin.
Small wood screw works fine.

Terry, he's talking about the cone not the tip.  Its a clip (of sorts)  that slides between the bottom plastic slot on the cone and the chrome base that mounts to the hood.

With some patience I've heard you can make one from a piece of metal strapping.

I think I have one. Part number 212042, spring - hood ornament ring to body

It's this one. It would be very easy to make one. It's .030" thick material, 2 1/8" long by 7/16" wide. Cut out 1/4" gap 1 1/4" deep and you got it.
