Does the alligator interior make it a Dragon ?Or was that an interior option ?
-
Only 1277 produced. Too bad there is a zero bidder ((
-
That doesn't look like Dragon to me it looks more like Deluxe . That's why I ask if it was a Dragon .
-
Thanks Jake )) If it is a Dragon Its less than three hours from me .
-
The car is not a dragon as far as I can see. First, the "deluxe" script on the fenders. Second, the door panel is the vinyl/cloth used on 1952-53 deluxe models. Third, the narrow stainless on the lower belt moldings.
By the way, where do you see actual seat upholstery? The only picture showing interior trim that I could open shows the drivers side rear inside door panel.
-
The owner states it is a Deluxe. I didn't say I saw the seats . I was going by the photo of the dash and door panel .Thanks for your information as always it is helpful.
-
I didn't see a photo showing seats. All I could open was a picture showing the door trim panel which was the same as on my 1952 deluxe with imatitation cowhide vinyl trim. 1953 Kaiser Travelers were the only ones with the dinasour trim. If you're talking about the dashboard crash pad, take a long close look and imagine it not so dirty and grimy. It's brown if you clean it up. Also, the dinasour vinyl had black spots with the color (two-tone, if you will).
You need to see a good picture of a seat to check the interior fabric. There isn't one of those.
Jake, do you homework.
-
I requested photos of the seats. But the owner is not in the same state as the car .And wont be until next week. Never the less it isn't a rare Dragon.
-
The pictures in the ad show it has dinosaur vinyl on the door panels just as the '53 Henry J Corsair Deluxe did.

Also, as is shown in the picture, the '53 Kaiser Deluxe has Henry J inside door handles and window cranks unlike the Manhattan and Dragon which have larger, fancier ones.
All of this info was in the 1985 version of KFOC Handbook so I'm guessing it's also in the current version. The '51 Dragon trims I've seen were all pleated vinyl on the seats and the door panels were also all vinyl. They did not have cloth inserts as the one in this photo does. The '53 Dragons had a completely different type of cloth on the seats and door panels.

Some later production Kaiser deLuxe and Kaiser Carolina models were equipped with HJ hardware; factory installation will be noted by numbers at 1 or more of the "M" headings on the larger firewall body tag.
-
Many of the people on the Forum are not KFOCI members, have no intention of joining the club (so it seems to me) and for that reason do not have access to the Handbook. They can only work off "somebody told me" or bad information published over the years.
-
I second that !!!
It was true on the Yahoo forum. They would ask to many Questions & say Yes I am a Member. Then Your at the point, P M Me Your club ID & I will help anyway I can...

After looking at those pictures again, I see the '53 Kaiser Deluxe has at least one Henry J wheel cover on it - driver side rear.
-
I noticed that to Fid.
