Title: Production papers
Post by: gdh123 on November 07, 2015, 12:07:00 AM
I used to have a Studebaker and ordered production papers for it. Is there any available for Frazers?

KFOCI HANDBOOK on CD includes all kinds of information (including production counts and both wholesale & retail pricing) on 1948 Manhattans.  It is a perk to members of the KFOCI.  The club does NOT sell it to non-members; you have to join to get it.   You could make your own window sticker off the information.

Otherwise, a fire at the Willys Motors office building in Toledo during 1955 and demolishing of the structure by AMC in the 1970's destroyed the build sheet information so we cannot do what the Studebaker and Cadillac people can do to re-create the original documents.  Further, all K-F cars were built before the use of "window stickers" on cars (first model year was 1958) so a reproduction of the original would be impossible anyway.

You can tell a lot about your car from the body tag on the firewall under the hood.  By deciphering the codes on the tag you can tell how your car was originally built.  Lots of other information about all of the kaiser Frazer products are available on the cd.
