They look like braces or support rods. Darrin folk got a real answer?

All I can say is that whatever they are, they are not factory. They look like some kind of brace from a chassis bolt in the floor to the edge of the underside of the windshield or cowl area. Looks like it would not be comfortable when riding in that Darrin. Floor space is tight as is. Don't know for sure what they are.

There are two braces under the dash that help keep the windshield posts in place. My guess is they are missing on this car and this was their solution to the problem of keeping the glass from breaking.

Neither of my Darrins, an early car and a later car, have anything like the braces pictured.

DTort is correct, there's not a lot of real estate in the foot well and with these things in the way, there's even less.
