While reading a copy of Automobile Manufacturers Association Consolidated Specifications Questionnaire for the Darrin dated 11/2/1953 it mentions that dual range Hydramatic was to be an option. It is interesting that no test cars have been found and perhaps they were all converted back to Borg Warner three speed. Rear end ratios were: 3 speed 4.10, overdrive 4.55 and automatic 3.54. The questionnaire is 24 pages and also mentions that the cars were to be painted with lacquer rather than enamel paint.
