Looks like it has been hit in the right rear quarter and of course there isn't a picture of that.

If you've been a member of the club as long as I, then you'll remember Andy Shroyer. He lived in southern California and he believed it was his mission to save every Kaiser he could find. He tried to concentrate his efforts on the Dragons but if he found a Kaiser sitting behind a building, like this one, he somehow ended up owning it and dragging it home. He usually paid somewhere around $50 for each car and some ran and drove and some looked like this example.
Andy's only problem with collecting Kaisers was that he lived in suburbia and in southern Cal, his neighbors weren't as enamored with Kaisers as he was. So, it wasn't long before the zoning folks were after him and he had to move or dispose of the cars. It took time but he did find new homes for most of the better cars but reluctantly, some were turned into new Datsuns.
Andy was also one of the first to start recasting pot metal Darrin parts. I have a set of the medallion "K"s that he made in brass.

Andy Shroyer also started the Darrin Registry and edited early editions of our club directory. Remember, back in the 1960's, you couldn't just copy or cut and paste or sort a file, the entire directory had to be hand-typed on an old Smith Corona or Royal or some-such typewriter.
Andy had an amazing energy and enthusiasm for anything KF, but get him talking about Darrins and he would almost start frothing at the mouth, his love of those cars was so great. I remember the Western Divisional in Grants Pass, OR in 1983. He was so excited about a Darrin belonging to a woman named Fish. It was trailered in and remained covered for a day or two. He made a big production about the unveiling of the car. Apparently, it was the oldest Darrin in existence, I believe it was number 1 or 2 off the production line.
Andy was indeed a character and one that is still missed by some of the older members. There are many more members that have gone on that deserve to be remembered. Perhaps we should start another thread for that.
