Title: stone deflector

working on 1953 Carolina. I was putting the reconditioned fuel tank back in. The parts book says it needs a stone deflector 207465. There was not one there when I took it apart should there be ?

Of course, it's the one part in the fuel tank parts list that's not pictured. Guess I better have a look at my 53. I'll snap a pic if I can.
