Title: 1951 Henry J for sale in Oregon

In the late '70's, I worked for a guy who had a 1951 Henry J stored in his barn. It was originally his wife's car. She bought it new and was driving it when they got married in the middle '50's. I was just getting the old car bug and encouraged the boss to do something with the Henry J. He took the bait and had it painted white (originally blue) and had his wife's cousin install the hideous red velour upholstery. I tried to talk him out of that but he thought it was cool and didn't care about originality  That was a lot of years ago and I always wondered what happened to the car. Low and behold I just stumbled upon it on Craigslist. Someone has done some work on it and now it is available. That was the first time I have ever entered Kaiser in the search bar. Maybe I am supposed to buy it. Think my wife will agree? Steve

Wow. If it's been sitting in a garage since 1959 then it was heavily reupholstered already by then.  Interesting since the HJ upholstery, even in the four cylinder models was pretty durable. Looks like it does not have overdrive.

The paint and upholstery was done in about 1980 or 1981 but the car was not re-registered. He did all that work and then let it sit in his shop. Steve
